SCCQ is seeking an experienced Communications & Marketing Specialist to join our team.

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Communications & Marketing Specialist to take the communications lead in a talented project management team undertaking a major business acquisition. You'll be responsible for the effective communication and change management of the project with both internal and external stakeholders.
This exciting opportunity offers a 12-month fixed term contract, based in our Support Office in Upper Mt Gravatt, with occasional travel to Broken Hill.

About the role In this key role, you will launch a new internal communications channel and intranet, manage change communications, update and launch websites, review materials and branding, and maintain stakeholder relationships. Reporting to the Head of Communications & Marketing, this position will work autonomously, but with the support of the wider SCCQ marketing and communications team to achieve project goals.
What are the key responsibilities? Develop and implement change management communication plans to support staff through transitions. Launch a new internal communications channel and intranet to improve information flow and engagement. Collaborate with the SCCQ marketing and communications teams to ensure alignment with overall strategies and goals. Ensure all project stakeholders are kept informed, educated and aware of developments. Attend project meetings and provide regular updates to the Head of Communications and Marketing. Develop, review and edit marketing and communications materials as required, including newsletters, brochures and digital content. Review, edit, and update the external website to ensure it is user-friendly, engaging, and aligned with the organisation's branding and messaging. Work closely with designers and external suppliers to produce high-quality materials. Create, write and distribute fortnightly project newsletter updates. Support the management of social media accounts by assisting in content creation, scheduling posts, and monitoring engagement. Ensure content is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with brand guidelines and marketing objectives. Assist in planning and coordinating events, such as town halls, resident meetings and anniversary celebrations. What you will bring to the role? Bachelor Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or similar, or relevant experience deemed the equivalent. Proven experience (5 years+) within a marketing or communications role, with a focus on rebranding and change management. Exposure to the aged care, human services, or not-for-profit industry (desirable). Demonstrated project management skills and ability to manage time effectively, coordinating multiple activities and deadlines simultaneously. Strong writing skills with the ability to produce high-quality tailored communications for a range of stakeholders. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work. Proficiency in digital communications tools and platforms (desired, WordPress, Mail Chimp, SharePoint). This role may require occasional travel to Broken Hill. Who is Southern Cross Care Queensland? Southern Cross Care Queensland (SCCQ) is a Catholic not-for-profit organisation established by the Knights of the Southern Cross, more than 40 years ago. They saw a need to provide compassionate care and inclusive service to some of the most vulnerable, the ageing population, in the community.
Since then, SCCQ has grown to employ over 1200 staff caring for and supporting more than 2000 people across 13 residential aged care homes, 5 retirement villages, 28 social houses, the National Disability and Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and home care services in metropolitan and rural Queensland.
From July 1st, 2024 SCCQ has committed to helping Southern Cross Care Broken Hill manage all their services.
