Animal Health Australia (AHA) is the trusted and independent national animal health body in Australia, bringing together government and industry to deliver animal biosecurity. ABOUT THE ROLE AHA has a 12-month contract opportunity for a Communications Coordinator to join the Communications team. Reporting to the Head of Communications, this position plays a key role in the support and delivery of organisational wide communication activities. 
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Exceptional writing and editing skills (news style articles) Good working knowledge of WordPress CMS Providing support to the communication activities including but not limited to:Corporate and industry publications Website content creation and management Stakeholder engagement events Marketing campaigns Assisting with the growth of AHA's digital presence. Work cooperatively with stakeholders, to accomplish AHA objectives to build and maintain mutually beneficial partnerships and achieve results. BENEFITS AND PERKS Central location in Canberra. Hybrid working arrangements available. Light rail station across the road. Total remuneration for this position is from $79,568 (including super) and will be commensurate with the successful candidate's level of experience.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related fields. Exceptional writing and editing skills with a background in feature and / or journalistic writing. Ability to summarise complex topics into social media posts and content. Sound time management and organisational skills whilst managing conflicting priorities. Creative and independent thinker with the ability and confidence to propose solutions to complex issues. Sound interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively with leaders and colleagues at all levels of the organisation. Demonstrated ability to successfully work both under instruction and independently. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships and networks with members and key stakeholders. Proficient in Microsoft Teams, contemporary office software applications, internet communication tools and functional software including Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress. Experience in the Australian agricultural or biosecurity. Experience in website coding and content management.
