We are looking for an APS6 Senior Communications and Media Advisor to join the newly established Stakeholder Engagement and Communication team in the Authority. The responsibilities of the team include: Developing, implementing and updating stakeholder engagement and communication plans; Providing strategic coordination of stakeholder engagement, public relations and media relations across the Authority to support the delivery of the Authority's priorities; Building and maintaining strong relationships with community and industry representatives and organisations; Managing government and ministerial relations including working with state, territory and local governments. The key duties of the position include: As the Communications and Media Advisor you will provide specialist communications and stakeholder engagement support for the operation of the Authority. As part of the role you will: Prepare, update and implement communication and engagement plans and strategies, as well as supporting policies, protocols and standards; Arrange and manage ministerial and Authority engagement activities and events; Research, write and edit content (i.e media releases, presentations, articles, website and social media copy, and speeches); Build and maintain relationships with government, community and industry stakeholders; Coordinate stakeholder engagement and communications across the Authority to support project delivery; Brief senior executives of the Authority and other senior government officials. Employment with the Authority is subject to conditions prescribed within the Public Service Act 1999 included: Citizenship: must be an Australian citizen to be eligible for employment with the Authority. Health Assessment: may be required to undergo a medical examination conducted by the Authority's preferred medical provider. Security Clearance: must be able to obtain and/or maintain a security clearance at the Baseline Vetting Level. You must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information. You must have lived in Australia, or have a verifiable background, for at least the preceding five years for Baseline Vetting Level. It will oversee the planning, development and construction of a transformational high speed rail network in Australia. This will be a significant, nation-building project for Australia and the Authority will be critical to the success of the planned high speed rail network. The Authority will support the Australian Government in planning for the future by working closely with state and territory governments to develop high speed rail between major cities and key regional centres which will advance social, economic and population outcomes. The Authority's first priority will be the Sydney to Newcastle corridor with an Australian Government $500 million commitment to start corridor acquisition, planning and early works in consultation with the NSW Government.
