We have an exciting opportunity for community members to join the Floodplain Risk Management Committee.
The committee provides and efficient and effective means of communicating and consulting with members of the community with an interest in, and key stakeholders relating to, floodplain risk management in the Wagga Wagga Local Government Area.
Duties of this position will include but are not limited to: Communicate and consult with members of the community with an interest in, and key stakeholders relating to, floodplain risk management in the Wagga Wagga Local Government Area.
Assist in rendering effective oversight concerning the implementation of actions contained in the Floodplain Risk Management Plan.
What you will need to succeed: Understanding of the role of the committee.
Knowledge of the NSW Government's Floodplain Management Program, Flood Prone Land Policy and the NSW Floodplain Risk Management Process, and the partnership with Local Council and the Local Floodplain Risk Management Committee.
Ability to think strategically, take a holistic view of the floodplain and objectively consider impacts for all community members.
Ability to understand long-term financial benefits and costs associated with various options for the future within the Wagga Wagga Revise Murrumbidgee Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan.
Ability to interpret and make decisions based on data from a variety of sources and in a variety of formats.
