As the Commercial Specialist, you will support the Business Operations Principal and the wider Design and Construct Team with initiatives that lift the commercial maturity of the Design and Construct business.

As a Commercial Specialist, you will be influential in defining and inputting into D&C's business commercial operations reviewing current ways of working, identifying new and improved ways of operating and reporting.This role will drive the development and maintenance of an activity-based costing view of performance, including a unit cost and volume as well inputting into the identification of E2E effectivity uplift activities and supporting wider business initiatives undertaken via the Commercial Operations Team.You will work closely with the finance and business teams as well as your peers in Design and Construct to ensure activities, planning and outcomes are embedded into ways of working and supported by appropriate governance and reporting.This role is critical to setting the Design and Construct team up to understanding our cost to deliver, so we are seen as value adding to our customers.
Overall Responsibilities include: Drive the development and maintenance of an activity-based costing view of performance, including a unit cost and volumeContribute to identification of commercial uplift activities including direct SME input into required processes and systems to support more commercial business operationsAct as a conduit and representative into the wider InfraCo E2E works programGovern the delivery of the uplift program and or directly lead the implementation of these initiativesEnsure the implementation and governance of activities to uplift and measure performance are in place and working effectively.Undertake analytical review of business performance to identify areas of opportunity and track improvement and calculate efficiency opportunitiesUndertake benefit realisation reviews and PIR of completed activitiesPersonal Characteristics: Ability to perform under pressureFlexibility in approach to problemsAutonomousWell organisedStrong customer focusHigh level of initiativeAble to work in a cooperative manner to facilitate results and teamworkBusiness: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with peer groupsUndertake reporting and analysis to monitor deliverables, productivity and identify business improvements, efficiencies and solutionsApplication of commercial and business SME expertiseUnderstanding of commercial and accounting treatmentsRelationship ManagementDevelop high-level customer relationships and ensuring clear communication channels are maintained and fostered.Strategy & Planning Ensure that individual objectives and accountabilities align with D&C objectivesProvide clear alignment and input of strategy back to Business Operations and Design and ConstructCompliance Accountabilities Act and behave in accordance with the Telstra Values at all timesEnsure that principles of fairness are applied in all areas of people managementWork safely at all timesStrictly observe all relevant Company policies and proceduresReport all known or observed hazards to the immediate supervisorComply with all applicable law relating to equal opportunity and non-discrimination in the workplaceEnsure that all Company and Privacy & Confidentiality policies and procedures are adhered toPlease note that this is a 12-month fixed-term position.
