Job description Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours As Commercial Manager, your duties will include negotiating and overseeing contracts and pursuing new business opportunities. You will also be responsible for ensuring that projects have in place an effective risk management process and that business risk is regularly reviewed.
Key Responsibilities The key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following tasks:
Ensure all work undertaken has effective financial controls in place. Provide weekly Flash P&L and Order Status reports and other ad hoc analysis. Analyze profitability and objectives set are monitored and maintained to underpin financial targets. Experience undertaking risk review and mitigation plan in bid cycle. Ensure all customer billing is done in a timely manner. Assist in financial negotiations with customers and suppliers including Bid Management and face-to-face meetings. Ensure the financial and commercial elements of contracts with customers and suppliers are effectively managed. Approve and validate supplier invoices and DL timesheets in line with the company DOA. Ensure financial and commercial performance is regularly reviewed by Project Managers and the Senior Team. Relationships To be effective in this role, the Commercial Manager will need to:
Maintain and build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including colleagues, customers, suppliers, and senior management teams. Work efficiently and effectively as part of a team. Communicate effectively with all other departments. Person Specification To be successful in this role, the Commercial Manager will have:
Experience working within a Financial or Commercial team. Strong planning, organization, and monitoring abilities. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels. Experience working with and analyzing large data sets. Knowledge of Power BI would be an advantage. Strong written and verbal communication skills. A strong orientation towards quality, safety, and continuous improvement. Ability to prioritize work, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage business expectations. Adaptability and flexibility in your approach to work. A high standard of numeracy. Computer literate with intermediate Excel skills such as Pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
