We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Commercial Analyst to join our Energy Solutions team in Brisbane CBD office on a Permanent Full Time basis.
The Energy Solutions Power Team at APA Group drives the development and execution of large-scale energy projects, typically ranging from $100 million to over $1 billion in capital cost.
With a focus on wind, solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and gas generation, the team handles projects from origination through to investment decision, including self-developed and customer-led initiatives.
APA owns and operates numerous energy assets nationally, including 360MW of gas fired generation in Mount Isa region.
APA is in the process of decarbonising this network, which started with a 100MWp commissioned in 2023 and is developing further projects in the region.

Reporting to the Head of Business Development, you will be contributing to the origination of new business deals by developing commercial energy solutions that best meet customer needs and internal requirements.
The position involves undertaking commercial analysis, developing customer offers, investment papers, and supporting projects to Financial Investment Decision under the guidance of a Business Development Manager.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct financial and technical modelling for power projects, including solar PV, wind, battery storage, and gas generation.Develop commercial solutions, analyse contracts and PPAs, and perform techno-economic modelling (LCOE).Prepare investment committee and board papers, as well as external presentations and customer submissions for tender processes.Manage external advisors/consultants and partner with various internal teams to integrate enterprise-wide input and expertise.Proactively manage stakeholder issues and concerns, ensure compliance with regulatory operations, and drive high levels of stakeholder satisfaction to maintain APA's reputation.Your BackgroundRelevant commercial and/or technical experience in power generation projects (preferred).Relevant tertiary qualification in Economics, Finance or Engineering.Technical understanding of and strong commercial acumen.Financial literacy: financial analysis and modelling.Experience of working in a dynamic team environment.Working at APAAt APA we're committed to fostering a safe and inclusive workplace where you can achieve your best.
