Now we just need you.A real endeavour, shaped by youAs a Combat Systems Engineer, you play a pivotal role in maintaining, managing, and overseeing the operation of cutting-edge weapons, radar, communications, and electronic systems.
This includes responsibility for advanced technology critical to mission success, such as missile systems, combat management systems, and electronic warfare equipment.You will provide technical direction, diagnosing and resolving complex system issues, and managing the maintenance schedules for critical equipment.
You will also work closely with other specialists to integrate weapons and communication systems into broader naval operations.Your expertise ensures the combat readiness of naval platforms, including frigates and destroyers, in particular supporting key projects for SEA4000 and AEGIS.To succeed in this endeavour, you will be responsible for:Overseeing the maintenance, repair, and upgrades of sophisticated weapons and electrical systems.Managing system installations, upgrades, and integration projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.Ensuring all weapons and electrical systems are fully functional and prepared for deployment.Advising senior leadership on technical matters and contributing to the development of future naval technologies.A real endeavour, driven by youOur work is highly complex and confidential, so there are some things you must have to fulfil this role:You must have and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) security clearance as required by the Commonwealth.Degree qualification in engineering/related discipline or relevant industry experience of more than 8 years.Experience in engineering analysis, investigations, certification and Systems Engineering to sustain and modify a materiel system.Proven leadership and stakeholder management abilities.Demonstrated ability to work independently to organize and prioritise complex tasks.Previous Royal Australian Navy (RAN), Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) or Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG) experience is desired.More than anything, you'll bring a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and a drive to manage critical projects and programs that build sovereign capability and deliver complex things that matter.Why Downer Professional Services?At Downer Professional Services, you'll find the opportunity to build something remarkable.
