About Us QML Pathology   is part of Healius' Pathology division, one of Australia's leading providers of private medical laboratory and pathology services. We operate about 100 medical laboratories and 2,000 patient collection centres across metropolitan, regional and remote Australia. Each year, we provide one in every three pathology services in Australia, extending from exclusively servicing some of Australia's largest and most complex private and public hospitals to small and remote Australian Aboriginal communities. About the Role In this varied role as Collection Lead within the hospital team, you will be responsible for the management of local hospital sites and the coordination of day-to-day operations, as well as providing leadership to a team of pathology collectors, ensuring the delivery of a high standard of clinical and customer service. Using your excellent leadership and people skills, you will be ensuring that your team are placed in the right roles and are equipped to fulfill their roles to a high quality through regular check ins, on-going support, mentoring and managing any training needed (through our Collector Trainers). As well as leading your team of Pathology Collectors, you will be working with a range of different stakeholders including Collection Trainers, Area Managers, hospital staff and other senior management. This role will ensure that designated (ACC) sites meet all People & Culture, Workplace Health & Safety requirements, and relevant accreditation standards. You will be given onsite training, ongoing support & mentoring from Area Managers, as well as a laptop, phone and a company vehicle. A day in the life of our Hospital Collection Leads includes: Face to Face individual check ins with your collection team, as well as monthly team meetings; coaching, supporting and celebrating team to work towards shared organisational goals and strategy Assisting with the recruitment and training of Pathology Collectors, payroll and time in attendance for your teams, and managing the rostering of your team Visiting different hospital sites across your allocated area, ensuring best practice service standards are met in all locations Regular auditing and fit out of collection rooms, ensuring adherence to Occupational Health and Safety and Quality Policies Facilitating the implementation and monitoring of new technologies in the workplace and ensuring your teams are comfortable in their use Monitoring and placing stock orders and minimising wastage Working closely with Area Managers and applying your commercial acumen to ensure your sites remain profitable Addressing patient/customer feedback Carrying out Pathology Collection responsibilities when needed About You To be considered for this position, you will be action orientated and customer focused, with a great blend of operational acumen and leadership skills.
