In Australia, our Energy Minerals business is a leading provider of coal testing, analysis and expert advice and we are currently looking for Coal Technicians to join our Newcastle operations. Job Description With this casual role you will be working as part of a fast-paced team, you will be responsible but not limited to:
Ensure that correct procedures are utilized in all aspects of recording, sampling, preparation, analysis, storage and reporting Day to day upkeep of analytical and sample preparation equipment. Delivery of quality samples to both internal and external customers. Qualifications The successful candidate will also have:
Appropriate on-the-job training with 6-12 months experience in a laboratory or chemical process; OR Completion of Higher School Certificate with passes in English, Maths and Science or equivalent Progress towards or completion of relevant higher formal qualifications preferred Completion of a numeracy, writing and comprehension test to required standard Previous experience in a similar prep/laboratory is desirable but not essential The ability to work in a team environment and the ability to meet tight deadlines. A valid driver's licence (Car - minimum green provisional Car Licence) Additional Information SGS is committed to providing and maintaining a working environment which is safe and without risk to the health of its workers and clients.
