About the role: The Specialist Harmful Sexual Behaviours (HSB) Program provides a specialist, trauma-safe and culturally-safe response to children and young people who are displaying harmful sexual behaviours. The service provides opportunities for healing, support, counselling, and a therapeutic response; working holistically with all those around the child or young person.
The Specialist HSB Program assists children and young people and adults to recover from the harmful impacts of trauma, and assists families and communities to support children and young people in the healing process.
The Clinical Social Worker or Clinical/Counselling/Forensic Psychologist will provide clinical consultation/supervision to the Counsellor and Aboriginal Outreach Support Worker position for the Specialist HSB Program.
This is a Fixed Term Full time 38 hours per week until 10.12.2026 opportunity based in Port Hedland, WA within our Specialist Harmful Sexual Behaviour Program, Pilbara WA Program. The position reports to the Principal Practitioner WA/NT. Key Selection Criteria: To be successful in this role, you will have:
A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families.An appropriate qualification and experience in Psychology/Social Work with a clinical focus.Clinical experience in working with children and families in a therapeutic setting.Knowledge of and experience in working with children and young people who display harmful sexual behaviours.Group work experience with children and/or adults.Demonstrated ability in working as part of a team.Please address the full Key Selection Criteria outlined in the PD as part of your application.
