The Collinsville Multi-Purpose Health Service is seeking applications for a Clinical Nurse (General Medicine) to join their team on a temporary basis.
Your opportunity
The Clinical Nurse provides nursing services within the health service settings; and is responsible for a portfolio with a focus on clinical care/leadership, management, education and/or research. The activities are predominantly clinical in nature, but also provide support to a Nurse Grade 7 or above in management activities. The Clinical Nurse provides advanced level clinical skills to ensure patient-focused evidence-based nursing care, plans and coordinates the clinical management of patient/client care and provides leadership and support to other nursing staff.
About the Team Collinsville Multi-Purpose Health Service is in the Whitsunday Regional Shire in the town of Collinsville, approximately 86km southwest from Bowen, a journey which takes approximately 1 hour from Bowen. Collinsville has approximately 2500 residents.The Collinsville Multi-Purpose Health Service consists of eight acute care beds, seven aged care beds, 24hr emergency care, outpatient care, visiting Allied Health Services including pharmacy, radiology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech pathology, mental health and AODS, child health, social work, Nurse Navigator and Diversional Therapist.A private GP practice is co-located within the hospital and the Medical Superintendent has the right to private practice. The QAS is also co-located within the hospital.Collinsville Multi-Purpose Health Service staffs its shifts on a minimum safe staffing level. The model of care is patient-centered. There is a registered nurse and enrolled nurse on all shifts, and an assistant in nursing works on the morning and afternoon shifts. Staff has the assistance of a Nurse Unit Manager and/or Director of Nursing if required. A clinical nurse educator visits fortnightly, and Registered Nurses from TEMSU and RSQ are also able to provide advice via telephone and videoconference if required.About our Hospital and Health Service
