Provide clinical nursing leadership in a contemporary acute care practice setting including advanced nursing care within scope of practice.
The Team: The LGH Department of Surgical and Perioperative Service has an embedded interdisciplinary model of care utilizing evidence-based best practice to provide best care to the people of Northern Tasmania.The Perioperative CNC role is a newly created position to support both the emergency and elective surgical patient journeys with consistency and dedicated excellence.The successful applicant will be a pivotal member of the surgical team working in close collaboration with other perioperative staff.The Role: Provide clinical nursing leadership in a contemporary acute care practice setting including advanced nursing care within scope of practice.In collaboration with the Nursing Director Surgical and Perioperative Services and Surgical Nurse Unit Managers (NUM), undertake nursing assessments, contribute to planning, and coordinate the delivery of services to patients admitted to the surgical units and wards.Support the Emergency Surgical Patient Journey including patients under an Interim Inpatient Management Plan (IIMP), enabling the transition of patients IIMP to the surgical wards and Units working in collaboration with clinical staff in the Emergency Department.Develop effective relationships with other service providers across the hospital and within the community to improve services and service access.Actively incorporate teaching, practice-based research, and quality activities within the role to improve standards of care.Collaborative Care in Surgery: You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team, supporting perioperative medicine in a surgical setting, to ensure high-quality care during the perioperative period.

Details of appointment: Permanent, part-time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 24 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible with a mutually agreed upon date.

Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 pro rata, per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
