Clinical Nurse Consultant - Child Health (Identified position)The child health service has two base locations in the community - Ipswich Health Plaza and Goodna Community Health. The child health service provides clinics within the community across the West Moreton Health including Gatton and Ripley. Child Health provides home-based appointments, clinic-based appointments, groups, and drop-in clinics.
Services are provided between Monday and Friday. The appointee will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the service roster.

The Clinical Nurse Consultant is a registered nurse who has an advanced level of autonomous, clinical, and professional practice in child health nursing care. They support the planning of care for children and families with complex needs and vulnerabilities by optimising their journey through working in partnership with the family. With a strong focus on child and family health and wellbeing outcomes, they enable equitable and enhanced access to services for children and families, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The Clinical Nurse Consultant works in partnership with the wider multidisciplinary team to provide family-centred, quality and safe care. This role provides the delivery of clinical care and support specific to Child Health Services within the Women, Children, and Family Division of West Moreton Health.

Demonstrate depth of knowledge, skills, experience, and competence as an RN in Child Health nursing practice with an ongoing commitment to:Advancing clinical knowledge and skills in family-focused care.Providing collaborative care and engaging in reflective practice that positively impacts client outcomes.Working with integrity and commitment to client, service, and organisation goals.Demonstrates the ability to build and maintain strong relationships, open communication, and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team, actively contributing to the learning and development of others to a high standard in the Women, Children, and Family division.Demonstrates expert level of contemporary clinical child health knowledge, expertise, and skills in child and family practice and leadership enabling the delivery and supporting high-quality care provision.Demonstrated management experience and capability with an ability and commitment to practice collaboratively within the child and family health service and the broader health care team to deliver high-quality care.Demonstrated advanced and effective communication, relationship development and maintenance, and change management skills.Demonstrated ability to be an effective child and family health professional with capability for high-level engagement across the spectrum of stakeholders including patients and families.Demonstrated legislation/policy knowledge and the ability to develop documents supporting the application of same.To read more on how West Moreton Health are committed to transforming and optimising our care, to meet the health care needs of our growing and diverse community – Follow this link.
