Clinical Nurse Consultant (Acute Care Team)Gold Coast Hospital & Health Service – Southport QLDThe RoleAn opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse Consultant (Mental Health - Acute Care Team) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12,000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast and northern New South Wales region of Australia.You willProvide high level clinical leadership and advocacy for the mental health needs of service consumers and their carersProvide high level expertise of comprehensive and flexible mental health service in a specialised area of clinical practiceApply independent professional judgement, based on valid and reliable evidenceContribute to the development of clinical practice procedures and protocolsAbout youTo be successful in this position you will require:A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalentRegistration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of AustraliaBe credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing)A Masters or higher qualification within a relevant area is highly desirableEvidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis BTuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be requiredDeclaration of serious discipline history must be disclosedCriminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)About UsThe Acute Care Treatment Team (ACT) provides a 24-hour, 7-day a week specialist mental health care service. This team's role is to be the first point of contact for the GCHHS Mental Health Service to provide education, support, information, advice and referral. ACT is a mobile assertive outreach crisis response team that offers a range of short-term options tailored to meet individual needs in the community, which may also include acute care in the immediate post-discharge phase of an inpatient admission.
