Clinical Nurse Consultant (Acute Care Team)Provide high level independent mental health services including a high level of assessment, collaborative treatment planning and case management or case collaboration for difficult to engage and/or high risk patients with severe and complex mental health problems, and their carers/families, beyond routine day to day presentations.

The Role An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse Consultant (Mental Health - Acute Care Team) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12,000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will Provide high level clinical leadership and advocacy for the mental health needs of service consumers and their carers.Provide high level expertise of comprehensive and flexible mental health service in a specialised area of clinical practice.Apply independent professional judgement, based on valid and reliable evidence.Contribute to the development of clinical practice procedures and protocols.About you To be successful in this position you will require:
A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent.Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia.Be credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing).A Masters or higher qualification within a relevant area is highly desirable.Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B.Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required.Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed.Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost).Permanent full time, permanent part time.Base salary ranging from $132,562 - $143,924 per annum, $66.85 - $72.58 per hour.About Us The Acute Care Treatment Team (ACT) provides 24 hour, 7 day a week specialist mental health care service. This team's role is to be the first point of contact for the GCHHS Mental Health Service to provide education, support, information, advice and referral. ACT is a mobile assertive outreach crisis response team that offers a range of short-term options tailored to meet individual needs in the community which may also include acute care in the immediate post discharge phase of an inpatient admission.
