What's involved – This role provides primary midwifery care for a caseload of women, in collaboration with other health care providers, across the continuum of pregnancy, labour, birth and the post-partum period within Maternity Services and in the community.
The clinical midwife will provide clinical leadership and expertise, with support and education to other midwives within the group practice, ensuring the provision of best practice, collaboration and quality care for women and their families.
As a Clinical Midwife (Caseload), receiving an annualised salary you will be responsible for an individual caseload and work in partnership with the team and the Clinical Midwife Consultant/Educator to manage your on-call and rostered days off.
Opportunities exist to provide outreach midwifery care in remote areas of the Central West Hospital & Health Service and support outlying midwives in these areas.
In consultation with the Clinical Midwife Consultant/Educator, the Clinical Midwife (Caseload) is responsible and accountable for the effective management of a quality portfolio and associated supportive activities designed to facilitate the achievement of care standards prescribed within the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards and the National Competency Standards for Midwives.
