Australian Veteran Health Services is a unique, multi-disciplinary medical service designed to assist former and current Defence personnel plan their transition from military to civilian life. As a medical service that was established by Veterans for Veterans, we aim to complement established medical and ex-service organisations by assisting with DVA Claims, Permanent Impairment Assessments, Veteran Review Board (VRB) reports and ADF Transition Medicals.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY: We are opening a Clinic in Adelaide! Based in Daw Park, the Clinical Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Clinic; contributing to strategic design; and implementing strategy. This role will identify and implement systems, policies and processes, which will improve clinical excellence, accountability and growth across AVHS. The successful candidate will need to have a 'hands on' approach as this role will provide cover for Reception, Practice Nurse and Clinical Manager duties initially until the Clinic is fully functional.
ABOUT YOU: You will be an experienced RN with a strong background in practice nursing, team leading and driving success. With strong interpersonal and communication skills you'll be approachable and trustworthy. High level stakeholder engagement skills are a must, as we have many moving parts in the delivery of support to the veteran community. You will have continuous learning habits and a demonstrated ability in Practice management.
Key Responsibilities: Foster a culture that aligns to AVHS Values and Code of ConductEnsure compliance with AGPAL accreditation and contribute to accreditation activitiesEnsure clinic adherence with Medicare and DVA billing guidelines/rulesEnsure practice currency with PRODA requirementsMaintain Emergency Trolley and stockMaintain AED and other clinical equipmentWork closely with the Senior Leaders to design, develop and implement policies, procedures and processes that align to improve practice standardsCommunicate all requirements forming part of the clinical policies and/or procedures to ensure effective implementation and conformance to practices and processes is undertaken.Ensure conformance with policies, procedures and processes to mitigate issues and where such issues/non-conformance arises, action accordingly and communicate departmental and clinical performance with the organisational structure.Work closely with the leaders to ensure transparency and alignment between inter-organisational processes within the workplace teams, including the impacts and influences that may directly and indirectly influence team performanceWork with the clinical and organisational leadership teams as part of recruitment, selection, and on-boarding process for new clinical and nursing staffSelection Criteria: Bachelor of Registered Nursing with minimum 5 years' experience.Demonstrated experience in managing organisational clinic planning, workflow and meeting KPI's.Demonstrated experience in business analysis and reporting.Strong management skills and demonstrated capacity to successfully direct a team to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines (essential)Capacity to work independently with minimal direction and collaboratively in a team environment (essential)Strong interpersonal and communications skills with demonstrated experience in influencing multiple stakeholder groups and working collaboratively (essential)Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite with advanced Excel skills (essential)Your application will include the following questions:
