Lead and promote excellence in clinical care, training, research, and improvement for Metro North Mental Health's Alcohol and Drug Service, ensuring safety standards.
The purpose of this role is to promote excellence in clinical care, training, research, evaluation and improvement in the clinical services of Metro North Mental Health, specifically the clinical services within the Alcohol and Drug Service.Provide clinical leadership and ensure clinical services provided by Metro North Mental Health-Alcohol and Drug Service (MNMH-ADS) across Metro North Mental Health meet the required service standards, governance, and patient safety.About you This successful applicant will conduct the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
To work in a collaborative partnership with the Operations Director, MNMH-ADS to provide:Quality consumer focused clinical services within the allocated budget,A culture of continuous learning and improvementStrategic planning,Human resource management,Professional education,Management and assessment of information systems and technologies, andDrive financial, human, and physical resources to optimize mental health services and drive identified outcomes and actively intervene (collaborate) with the Operations Director to ensure achievement of performance outcomes.Support more integrated approaches to mental health, alcohol and other drugs care.The oversight of medical practice and quality activities within MNMH-ADS to ensure that care is provided to a high quality in accordance with ethical principles, consistent with requirements of Metro North Mental Health.To participate in appraisals of subordinate staff and Departmental performance.Provide a consultation service to other medical practitioners both in the public system and private system with the Right of Private practice arrangements.Mandatory Qualifications Appointment to this role requires proof of qualification and specialist registration in Psychiatry or Addiction Medicine with the Medical Board of Australia.
Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or Fellowship of the Australasian Chapter of Addiction Medicine, RACPCertified copies of your qualifications are required to be provided with your application.MBBS or equivalent qualification from a tertiary institute acceptable to the Medical Board of Australia for registration as a medical practitioner in Australia.Eligibility for accreditation as a RANZCP – approved training supervisor. This position is required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster and participate in the 'on call' after hours roster.The successful applicant must have a Scope of Clinical Practice (SoCP) awarded by a Metro North Health Credentialing and SoCP Committee appropriate to the role. Information presented for application may be presented to the Committee during the selection process and all appointments are subject to maintenance of SoCP within the Clinical Skills Capability Framework for the facility in which the clinical work is to be undertaken.
