Who are we?
The Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (ILSC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander 2005 Act (Cth) ('the Act') and subject to the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013. The ILSC assists Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to realise economic, social, cultural and environmental benefits that the ownership and management of land, water and water related rights can bring. The ILSC provides this assistance through the acquisition and management of rights and interests in land, salt water and fresh water country.

What is the role?
Under the direction of the General Manager Policy, Strategy and Performance, lead strategy development, strategic planning, oversight of the ILSC's strategic initiatives and the provision of strategic advice and support to Board and senior leaders to the benefit of Indigenous peoples.
Under the direction of the General Manager Policy, Strategy and Performance you will:
Facilitate and execute internal strategic reform to enable the organisation to successfully implement its strategy.
Provide strategic advice to staff and leaders regarding annual work planning processes and related projects that deliver on key organisational priorities and outcomes.
Support and advise leaders on strategic opportunities and challenges that impact our goals, including conducting environment scanning on trends and supporting strategic thinking and decision making.
In consultation with the ILSC's Strategic Communications Manager, lead the development, adoption and implementation of a framework guide to engagement with First Nations enterprises at the national, regional and community level. Support internal capability development as required.
Manage the development of and facilitate the successful implementation of the ILSC's National and Regional Indigenous Land and Sea Strategies (NILSS and RILSS), including leading drafting and direction.
To support strategy development, manage the coordination of comprehensive and culturally safe engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Prepare high-level briefings and other correspondence, including material for Ministerial and ILSC Board consideration.
In line with the strategic priorities of the Program Development and Delivery Directorate, undertake the development and analysis of policy relating to the ILSC, supporting the ILSC to contribute to and influence relevant Government policy.
Provide reports on the outcomes and benefits derived by Indigenous people through the ILSC's programs and projects and make recommendations for continuous improvement to ensure that ILSC policies and programs deliver sustainable benefits to Indigenous people.
Support the preparation and alignment of the ILSC's planning and reporting cycle, comprising documents required under the PGPA Act and the ILSC's own enabling legislation.
