Responsible for ensuring accurate tariff classification and compliance with customs regulations for import and export shipments.
Identifying and classifying goods will contribute to seamless customs clearance processes and exceptional customer service.
Classify goods according to customs regulations and international harmonized system (HS) codes.
Review shipment documentation, including invoices and packing lists, to ensure correct tariff classification.
Collaborate with customers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to obtain accurate product information and address classification queries.
Maintain current knowledge of customs regulations, trade agreements, and tariff schedules for compliance and accurate customer advice.
Identify and resolve discrepancies in classification and documentation, communicating proactively with stakeholders.
Interface with the Australian Border Force (ABF) and other government agencies to ensure regulatory compliance.
Maintain meticulous records and documentation related to tariff classifications and customs clearance processes.
Stay abreast of industry trends and changes in customs regulations to identify opportunities for process improvement.
Minimum Education Secondary education or equivalent.
Certifications in Use of Specialized Equipment/or Subject Knowledge strongly preferred.
