Western Downs Regional Council – Toowoomba QLD
Based in Dalby, Council is seeking a Civil Designer OR Senior Civil Designer (depending on qualifications and experience), to become an integral part of the design team responsible for the efficient and cost effective delivery of a range of design services including civil works, surveying, drafting and estimating.
This role is full time, working 36.25 hours per week with a fortnightly RDO.
Reporting to the Civil Design Coordinator, you will be:
Developing cost effective design based on construction requirements & adhering to established design guidelines and proceduresAnalysing design issues and recommend corrective actions;Performing civil design analysis and calculations according to project recommendations;Determining construction cost and material estimates based on civil designs.About yourself A person in this position will need to hold a relevant qualification which may include an Associate Diploma in Civil Engineering; Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering/ Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering/ Associate Degree in Civil Engineering or in a related field, OR be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience.
It is also highly desirable for the successful candidate to have a thorough knowledge of applicable design standards for road and drainage, and local government engineering practices and legislation.
