About the roleWe are currently looking for a permanent Civil Design Officer who will report directly to the Civil Structural Engineering Lead. The primary focus of this role will be to work on bulk earthwork design and modelling using Civil 3D (or 12d) to support both the design and construction phases of large-scale BESS and substation projects.
The role will also include developing and reviewing calculations for pavement, bulk earthworks, and stormwater drainage systems, along with conducting the drainage modelling (DRAINS) and preparing the necessary documentation.
Day to day you will:Provide civil design and engineering support and expertise for substation and renewable energy projects.Apply sound engineering principles to develop bulk earthworks and drainage designs complying with relevant standards, including statutory regulations, Australian Standards, and other applicable guidelines with technical support from the Principal Civil Engineer.In collaboration with the team, develop engineering calculations and reports for pavement, bulk earthworks, stormwater, and drainage systems where applicable.Create, with team support, detailed engineering drawings and 3D design models for bulk earthworks, pavement, and drainage, including the review and validation of others' work.Interpret building and road civil designs, with a focus on delivering design documentation in the substation and renewable energy sector.Assist in the development of templates, tools, and procedures to enhance the efficiency and quality of civil design deliverables.Contribute detailed input into the scoping and design phases of civil construction projects, ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and constructible solutions. This includes the development and revision of standard construction drawings and coordination with stakeholders to achieve project objectives.Ensure continuous adherence to Quality Management System procedures and principles throughout the project lifecycle, including risk management.About youThe ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of proven experience in civil and building design using earthworks modelling software such as Civil 3D or 12d. Experience in drainage design and modelling (DRAINS) is preferable, not mandatory, however you will have a desire to learn under the guidance of senior engineers and designers.
You will also have the ability to time manage own deadlines and conflicting priorities to maintain agreed timeframes and have well-developed communication skills to enable you to liaise effectively and work collaboratively with other members of the team.
Specific qualifications and experience required include:Proven experience in using Civil 3D modelling is essential - 12d is also preferable.Experience or working knowledge of drainage design and software such as DRAINS is preferred.May be required to travel intrastate, or interstate or internationally.May be required to work outside of normal working hours on occasion.May be required to visit worksites, both locally and interstate.Flexible working hours (Flexitime).May be required to stay away overnight.About usAt Enerven, we want our work to make a difference.
