Chief Practitioner - Department for Child Protection, South Australia

Position OverviewThe Chief Practitioner is accountable to the Deputy Chief Executive for providing significant expert practice advice, leadership, and oversight to Child Protection staff with the ultimate aim of achieving safety, stability, and optimal development for children.The Chief Practitioner will lead a team of specialists across multiple disciplines to continuously improve evidence-based practice and provide expert clinical advice and system-wide reform. Working closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders, the Chief Practitioner will collaborate to deliver contemporary and ethical practice and provide insights and evidence to operational and program areas to drive system reform and practice changes.Key ResponsibilitiesDrive evidence-based practice and provide expert clinical advice for individual clients and at a system-level.Enable an integrated approach to developing and leading practice and strengthening workforce capability and wellbeing.Demonstrate a commitment to cultural competence and ensure First Nations self-determination is at the core of practice.Lead a team to partner across community services (including funded agencies).Qualifications and ExperienceTo be successful in this role, you will possess specialist practice knowledge of an area relevant to Child Protection, disability service, health, and/or clients with complex needs. A professional qualification in social work, psychology, psychiatry, or a clinical field is essential.
