As a result of an internal review to set RBGV for success into the future, a Chief Operating Officer (COO) role has been established to spearhead the Corporate Services Division. Reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a member of the Executive team, the COO will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service delivery to both internal and external stakeholders. With five direct reports, the COO will be accountable for providing strategic counsel to the CEO, Directors and Board, while also managing the Secretariat function for the Board and Committees. Furthermore, the COO will oversee the operations of the Finance, Risk and Compliance, People and Culture, IT, and Infrastructure, Facilities and Assets branches, driving organisational efficiency and effectiveness.
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for the following key areas:
Developing and maintaining governance, risk, and compliance frameworks across the organisation to ensure adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements.Driving operational efficiency, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives to deliver exceptional service and value to internal and external stakeholders.Contributing to the development and implementation of the corporate plan, strategic initiatives, and community service obligations to support organisational growth and social responsibility.Fostering a positive organisational culture that aligns with RBGV's values, promotes diversity, and encourages high performance among employees.Overseeing financial management, resource allocation, and fiscal responsibility to ensure the organisation's long-term financial sustainability.Engaging with external stakeholders, including tenants, foundations, and government bodies, to cultivate and maintain positive relationships that benefit the organisation's overall mission and objectives.As the ideal candidate, you will be an experienced Executive with a successful track record in leading the operational aspects of a complex organisation. Your accomplishments will include a demonstrated history of managing diverse teams and driving organisational success. As a crucial advocate for RBGV, you will possess exceptional communication skills, enabling you to engage with a wide range of stakeholders and serve as a key ambassador in promoting RBGV to the Victorian public. A solid understanding of governmental processes, public sector operations, and financial policies is highly desirable for this role, as it will involve interaction with key government stakeholders and knowledge of the machinery of government.
