Ngarluma Aboriginal Corporation (NAC) is the Prescribed Body Corporate (PBC) for the Ngarluma people, the Traditional Owners of the land and waters around the Pilbara region in Western Australia. Our role is to represent and support the cultural, social, and economic interests of our people. We are deeply committed to fostering sustainable economic opportunities while protecting and preserving Ngarluma cultural heritage.

About the RoleWe are looking for an inspiring and community-driven Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead NAC through its next phase of growth and development. This is a rare opportunity to be at the forefront of delivering life-changing benefits to Aboriginal communities while ensuring the Ngarluma culture and traditions are honoured and protected.
As CEO, you will play a pivotal role in empowering the Ngarluma people by driving initiatives that create economic self-sufficiency and long-term sustainability for the community. You will work closely with the Board of Directors and key stakeholders to develop strategic plans that reflect the aspirations of our people, ensuring that NAC continues to deliver positive outcomes in land management, economic development, and cultural preservation.
Key Responsibilities:Champion Ngarluma's Vision: Lead the execution of the corporation's mission to protect, promote, and enhance the cultural and economic interests of the Ngarluma people. You will be the voice of our community, ensuring that their needs are heard, and their aspirations are realised.Deliver Community-Centric Projects: Oversee transformative projects such as the renewable energy initiative with Rio Tinto. This solar farm is projected to generate sustainable revenue and create job opportunities for Ngarluma people, ensuring environmental sustainability while directly benefitting the community.Empower and Support Community Members: Collaborate with Ngarluma members and other Aboriginal communities to support their goals in education and employment. This includes advocating for training programs, local business opportunities, and pathways to employment that empower our people to thrive on their land.Cultural Stewardship: Work with Elders and other community leaders to protect and celebrate the rich heritage of the Ngarluma people. This includes overseeing cultural programs that strengthen traditional knowledge and practices for future generations.Strong Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strategic relationships with government bodies, non-profit organisations, and industry partners to secure funding and partnerships that benefit Ngarluma members.Operational Leadership: Lead NAC's internal operations, ensuring financial sustainability, good governance, and staff development to support the corporation's ongoing success.The Impact You'll Make:As CEO of NAC, you will directly impact the lives of our members and the broader Ngarluma community. Key Selection Criteria:Demonstrated senior leadership experience in Indigenous organisations or community-focused sectors.Proven experience in project management, particularly with commercial and sustainability initiatives.Strong track record of building relationships with government agencies, Indigenous communities, and corporate partners.Deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities facing Aboriginal communities, especially in remote areas.Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to advocate for the community at local, state, and national levels.Knowledge of financial management and governance practices.Be at the forefront of delivering meaningful and lasting change for the Ngarluma people.Lead high-impact projects that create real economic opportunities and protect the environment.How to Apply:To apply, please submit your CV and a cover letter outlining your experience and suitability for this role.
