Chief Executive Officer The Employment Shop location Perth.The WA Police Union (WAPU) is seeking a visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead our dynamic organisation representing the interests of Members of the Western Australia Police Force. The WA Police Union (WAPU) represents the professional and industrial interests of nearly 7,000 police officers, police recruits, cadets, and police auxiliary officers employed by the WA Police Force.Covering the portfolios of Legal, Industrial Relations, WHS, Welfare, Media, Advocacy, Research, Administration, and Member Services, WAPU plays a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction and ensuring the well-being of its constituents. WAPU is registered with the WA Industrial Relations Commission (WAIRC) and affiliated with the Police Federation of Australia (PFA).About the role: reporting to the President, the CEO will work collaboratively with the Board to set WAPU's strategic direction and ensure the successful implementation and achievement of these objectives. Key responsibilities include overseeing WAPU's operations, leading the management team, and financial management.Demonstrating the highest standards of conduct, integrity, and professionalism, and acting in the best interests of WAPU and its Members, building and maintaining strong relationships is critical to WAPU's success.About you: to be considered for this role, you will require exceptional financial acumen, strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and business development skills. Ideally, you will have a proven track record of reporting to a Board of Directors.Qualifications and Knowledge (Essential): possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, management, accounting, finance, or a related field or demonstrate equivalent experience. Bring a minimum of 10 years of management experience at a leadership or senior management level. Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of accounting principles.Qualifications and Knowledge (Desirable): have an understanding of policing, as well as expertise in risk management and compliance. Hold membership in professional organisations like the AICD. Possess a commitment to continuous professional development.
