The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing the entire engineering operations of the hotel's systems, plant, and equipment. With a portfolio of upscale hotels globally, they strive to create memorable experiences for every guest.Key ResponsibilitiesOversight of engineering operations for exterior and interior facilities, including electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, painting, plumbing, heating, cooling, ventilation, structural elements, landscaping, and car parks.Maintenance of hotel facilities to ensure a top-quality experience for guests and safeguarding the well-being of all stakeholders.Leading the Engineering Team in day-to-day operations, implementing preventative maintenance programs, and monitoring services performed by outside contractors.Collaboration with departments like Housekeeping and Front Office to ensure seamless operations and timely responses to service requests.Planning, implementing, and administering effective preventive maintenance programs in accordance with manufacturer recommendations, government legislation, and good engineering practices.Evaluation of HVAC and fire safety systems, addressing repairs or upgrades as needed.Development of an energy management program to conserve energy and introduce sustainable systems and equipment.Conducting ongoing inspections to ensure compliance with Workplace Health & Safety, Fire or any other pertinent legislation.Management of the maintenance budget, identifying cost-saving measures, and coordinating renovation projects.Emergency response readiness, including equipment failures or natural disasters.RequirementsEducational background in Electrical, Plumbing, or Mechanical trade.Advanced knowledge of building management/engineering principles.Motivated and self-driven individual with a passion for delivering consistency.Flexibility with rostering and availability 24/7 in case of emergencies.Superior communication and negotiation skills for collaborating with diverse stakeholders.Knowledge of government regulations and technical rules.Prior experience in facilities management, preferably within Hotels and Hospitality.Leadership experience with a hands-on approach and previous team management experience.Proficiency in computer software and basic accounting principles.About HiltonHilton is a leading global hospitality company offering business and leisure travellers accommodations, service, amenities, and value.
