We pride ourselves on delivering creative and contemporary dishes that appeal to both foodies and families. Our menu evolves with the seasons to ensure fresh and exciting offerings, while also featuring classic favorites like milktart, Boerewors, and other South African specialties. Position Overview: Amaretto is seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be creative, enthusiastic, and have a deep love for crafting seasonal dishes that highlight fresh ingredients. Experience in South African cuisine or an interest in learning and incorporating it into our menu will be highly regarded. Key Responsibilities: Monitors and maintains the quality of dishes throughout every stage of preparation, ensuring that each plate meets high standards in taste, presentation, and adherence to culinary excellence. Ensuring dishes are prepared according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines. Ordering ingredients and optimizing inventory to support kitchen operations. Strategically freezing and preserving ingredients to minimize waste and optimize kitchen efficiency. Participating in the selection and hiring process to onboard skilled and qualified kitchen personnel and training the kitchen staff to perform their duties adequately. Designing menus that balance creativity, seasonal availability, and customer preferences. Working closely with managers, dietitians, kitchen staff, and waiting staff, the focus is on fostering collaboration and addressing operational, nutritional, and customer service aspects to ensure efficient and high-quality food service. Ensure hygiene is maintained to the required standards and maintain a clean and organised kitchen during and after service. Calculating food and labor costs to ensure profitability and efficient resource allocation. Introducing new cooking techniques, recipes, and menu items to enhance culinary offerings. Skills and Experience: Certificate IV qualification is required. The candidate must have at least 2 years' experience in busy restaurant. Friendly, positive & approachable attitude. To be energetic & motivated. Able to work under pressure. Salary Package: $70,000 - $80,000 Plus Superannuation per annum. Apply today to become part of the Amaretto team.
