Chandler Macleod is excited to partner with a premier construction company to recruit a talented Site Managerfor a major 20-month commercial project in Shepparton. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a high-profile build, where you will manage the project from start to finish, ensuring it is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Role Overview
As the Site Manager , you will be the driving force behind day-to-day operations on-site. Working closely with the Project Manager, you will oversee the entire build process, managing all subcontractors and suppliers, coordinating site activities, and ensuring compliance with safety and building regulations. You'll play a key role in ensuring the project remains on track to meet weekly milestones and monthly targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Leadership: Lead and manage on-site operations, overseeing 120 work packages while ensuring progress aligns with the project timeline. Subcontractor Management: Directly manage subcontractors, ensuring smooth coordination and adherence to the project's specifications, budget, and safety protocols. Project Monitoring: Collaborate with the Project Manager to track project milestones, conduct weekly progress assessments, and attend monthly project meetings. Quality and Safety Compliance: Oversee the implementation of strict quality controls and maintain compliance with safety regulations, including OHS standards. Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear communication with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients, reporting progress and addressing site-related challenges swiftly. Structural Focus: Ensure technical aspects like structural steel sequencing, pre-cast panels, and other key construction elements are executed effectively, from earthworks to final handover. Required Skills and Experience: Trade Background: Ideally from a carpentry or similar trade background, with proven experience managing large multi-million dollar commercial construction projects. Experience in Structural Builds: Strong understanding of structural elements, including pre-cast panels and sequencing of structural steel. Subcontractor Management: Experience managing multiple subcontractors and ensuring successful delivery of large-scale construction projects. Local Knowledge: Familiarity with the Shepparton area and established relationships with local labourers and subcontractors will be highly regarded. Challenges and Expectations: Logistical Oversight: You'll need to navigate the logistical complexities of managing a large commercial project, ensuring strong communication both on-site and remotely. Risk Management: Stay ahead of potential issues by closely monitoring safety, structural challenges, and coordination with the Project Manager to address any problems swiftly. Tight Deadlines: Be prepared to work towards strict deadlines and ensure all deliverables are met on time. Salary and Package: Competitive Salary: $150K package, including superannuation. Bonus Structure: Performance-based bonuses linked to project completion milestones, with an initial 50% payout upon reaching the Practical Completion stage and the remaining upon bank guarantee returns. Hours: Standard work hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with the expectation of extended hours to ensure project success.
