The Opportunity As the Category Manager (CM), the role will be responsible for continuously balancing the needs and requirements of both catch.com.au and our managed strategic sellers. They will find themselves engaging some of Catch's most important partners and sellers, as well as internal cross-functional teams with high visibility. In addition, the CM is responsible to align with Retail (1P) and E-commerce on the overall performance of range and sales within specific categories.
What you'll be doing Leadership & Development
Coach, lead and develop each member of your team in line with Catch ValuesExecute and manage Achievement & Growth development plans within your teamPartner with external teams including Marketing, UX teams, and product teams to align programs and initiatives to drive growth in existing seller baseSales & Seller Recruitment
Working with the Head of Marketplace to define, execute and deliver a comprehensive, rapidly scalable seller recruitment strategy for your marketplace category/sBuild a 3-month, 12-month and 3-year and always-on category strategy and align with overall category strategyIdentify the target customer and establish strategies for the assigned merchandise category through analysis of customer needs, competitor activity, the retail environment and market researchThrough targeted seller acquisitions, work with brands on the right merchandising and ranging mix of their products to satisfy customer needs - this includes sourcing sellers who fulfil core and trending productsStrategic
Conduct deep dive analysis on issues affecting Seller business performance and provide the 'Voice of the Seller' as an input into sales product development and sales process improvement.Identify the target customer and establish strategies for the assigned merchandise category through analysis of customer needs, competitor activity, the retail environment and market researchAnalyze trends, diagnose root cause of performance, and create actionable plans for sales operational improvements.Co-develop merchandising plan for Marketplace and Seller promotions with Merchandising and Retail teamsReview category performance to help implement proactive solutions to deliver financial KPIs for overall category; attend monthly forecast reviews with RetailSeller Relationship
Maintain an honest and ethical relationship with seller leadsAssist with the development of strategic relationships with key sellers including range optimisationMaximise financial outcomes for Catch when dealing with sellersEnsure seller understanding of Catch strategy and ValuesThe skills you'll have 3-5 years in a similar positionStrong written and verbal communicationAbility to collaborate cross-functionally within TradeDemonstrated drive to set and achieve aggressive growth targetsStrong quantitative analytical skills (including database analysis and Excel skills).A passion for delivering outstanding value to customersAble to lead and influence othersAble to multitask and manage conflicting prioritiesHigh attention to detail and solutions-based thinkingStrong written and verbal communicationStrong quantitative analytical skills (including database analysis and Excel skills).The ability to develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts (Executive level and higher)Strong working knowledge of the marketplace model and/or ecommerce retail
