About the opportunity: Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable families?
Uniting is looking for a dedicated Family Preservation Caseworker to join our supportive team in Southwestern Sydney.
In this pivotal role, you'll help families facing significant challenges by providing trauma-informed, evidence-based casework that focuses on keeping children safe within their homes.
You'll work alongside families in the child protection system, supporting them in overcoming barriers and building stronger, healthier relationships.
Deliver a range of culturally responsive, trauma-informed services to support family preservation.
Collaborate closely with families to develop and implement effective, child-focused case plans that ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people.
Conduct home visits and assess families' strengths and needs, creating personalised intervention plans that address immediate and ongoing risks.
Work alongside the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) Caseworkers and other community networks to ensure the best outcomes for the families you serve.
Respond to on-call needs as part of a roster, providing critical support to families when they need it most.
Your Qualifications & Experience To succeed in this role, you will have: Bachelor qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, with at least two years of experience working with at-risk children and families.
Strong skills in risk assessment, case management, and building trust with families in crisis.
Proven ability to engage families and help them achieve goals that prioritise child safety.
Experience delivering support to children and families affected by domestic violence.
Cultural competence when working with Aboriginal families and those from diverse backgrounds.
