About the role ac.care is seeking a Case Worker Foster Care Services to work collaboratively as a team member within the organisation to deliver services to over 160 foster care households and 200 children in placements across the Adelaide Hills, Limestone Coast, Murraylands and Riverland. The Case Worker Foster Care Services supports Foster Carers through regular home visits, phone and email contact to engage Carers to support their role as providers of care that has a strong child focus lens. The role will promote the positive development of children and young people ensuring their needs are met. The role will support the collaborative functioning of the care team around children and young people and ensure the foster care environment is safe. As part of this you will: Engage with community stakeholders including service providers, community groups and businesses to identify community needs and collaborate in the delivery of activities and programs. Design, develop and deliver activities and programs to small groups. Lead a team of volunteers, maximising effective use of their skills and experience, and providing appropriate recognition of the contribution they make with disabilities, people from culturally diverse backgrounds and people who identify as LGBTIQ+. Undertake activity and program evaluation, utilising the voice of participants, listening to consumers, and the communities in which they live to inform service delivery continous improvement. Collect data and prepare timely reports in response to identified priority local needs ensuring operational activity and program outcomes are achived. Establish and report on an annual action plan in conjunction with Community partners. Develop connections and engage regularly with local Community Connections Program (CCP) Partners, Regional Co-ordinating Partners and other Department of Human Services (DHS) funded programs, which may include Safer family Services and the Financial Wellbeing Program. Assist Manager with planning and co-ordination of program activities. Identify and contribute to program/service delivery performance outcomes. Contribute to the development and implementation of frameworks, policies, procedures and other resources to achieve outcomes. Manage risk in accordance with ac.care policies and procedures and Legislative requirements. Work effectively with the Manager and other members as part of 'one ac.care team'. Work collaboratively, developing respectful and compassionate relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high quality outcomes e.g. Department for Child Protection, birth parents, carer household, professionals and/or other carers or significant community people. Benefits $41.52 per hour Part Time (0.8 FTE) Five (5) weeks annual leave Salary packaging benefits and 11% employer contribution to superannuation. Special Conditions Current SA driver's licence 'Class C' or interstate equivalent. Current 'Provide First Aid' certificate Current Satisfactory Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain in accordance with ac.care policy. Valid National Police Check Child Safe Environment Certificate or willingness to obtain in accordance with ac.care policy. Qualifications, Experience and Attributes Tertiary or formal qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in Social Work, Social Science, Community Services or a related field. Demonstrated experience in case management, case noting, assessment and referral. Demonstrated experience in project management. Knowledge of the effects of trauma and abuse, attachment issues and behaviour management in relation to children in care. Use of self-reflective practices that build understanding of how personal experiences shape values, beliefs and responses to children, families and colleagues. Experience in effective communication both oral and written with a broad range of people from a variety of backgrounds.
