Crimson Capstone Advisor As a Crimson CapstoneAdvisor, you'd be working with students to strategize and develop a personalized leadership project that demonstrates their interests, ingenuity, and initiative. The leadership project is a vital component of their college application process. The core responsibility of an Advisor will be to guide and mentor the student on how to execute their Capstone Project. Advisors will also guide students with the scaling-up of their Capstone Projects as well as ensuring their projects are impactful within a community.
Our advisors are paired on a student-by-student basis, with the control to accept or decline students as the mentors schedules allow. This provides our advisors with abilities to manage their schedule around other commitments. The minimum hours required is 5 hours per week, and advisors are obligated to remain with students until their project has come to a close. Allocations are made on the basis of subject compatibility, meaning that you will be working with students hoping to pursue a project in an area similar to your own expertise. Popular project types and subject areas include:
Non-profit/community service
Entrepreneurship/Start-up's
Computer Science
Engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical, etc)
Physics
Biology and Medical Sciences
Law
Performance, Theater, and Fine Arts
If you have a skillset, a strong educational background ( Top 30 US Universities ), or professional profile that matches the above areas, and you have a passion for education and mentorship, you'd likely be a great candidate for ECL Advising! Additional qualities of an ideal ECL Advisor include strong project management and organizational skills, ability to work remotely and independently withan attention to detail, and fantastic written and verbal communication skills.
Service Expectations: As a provider of the standard ECL Service, you will be expected to provide students with guidance and support as it relates to their capstone leadership projects. Core responsibilities include:
Supporting students with development and ultimately submitting a Capstone Leadership Project Proposal, and Completion Form
Developing a project management plan for your students capstone leadership project and conducting biweekly to monthly sessions, aligningwith your own schedule,to aid the student in the execution of the project
Remaining with paired students until completion of their project.
Liaising with the ECL Admin team and the student Strategist to ensure that the student's capstone leadership projectis on track and their experience is satisfactory
Compensation The starting rate for standard ECL mentorship is dependent on your previous professional experience and expertise, as well any educational experience one can bring, such as having completed your own top-college application. You will be paid for the session time you spend with your students. Please note that a standard, one hour session will also include, approximately:
15 minutes of preparation time
10 minutes filling out a session summary
A potential 10-15 minutes of follow up or research on behalf of your student
