The Capacity & Forecast Planner will work closely with the Head of Capacity, other Capacity & Forecast Planners and nbn to assess capacity & resourcing needs, both short and long term. They will be responsible for balancing technician resource skills and availability within the areas managed to meet forecasted workload requirements, assist in responding to monthly rolling forecasts from nbn which forms the basis of our SLA agreement to committed work volumes. It is therefore vital the candidate will work with internal stakeholders to ensure that any shortfalls or risks are highlighted allowing them to be successfully mitigated. The role will also involve the management and collection of BSA field technician's capacity within the nbn system to ensure they are correctly routed and that this data is available to be used in our response formulation back to nbn around forecast requirements.
This role offers a hybrid work arrangement and is based in Melbourne.
Position responsibilities Work effectively with internal and external clients to ensure delivery of agreed outcomesEnsure forecast is responded to by the agreed deadline and accepted in line with the SLADevelop on-boarding strategies should they be needed based on forecasted demand or devise mitigating strategies to combat such shortfalls.Develop good client relationships with the nbn's Forecast and Calendar teams who shall be our direct nbn counterparts.Work closely with both these teams to ensure high levels of client satisfactionManage capacity trackers & tools daily to assess our current field output and judge if there are any risks to meeting our agreed commitments to nbnRespond promptly and accurately to any nbn change control request which may be raised requiring an uplift in our agreed work volumes.Collection of capacity from the field is completed within allocated scheduleEscalation of any un-submitted capacity to field team leader & state SDM if requiredEnsure capacity adjustments are made in a timely and accurate manner when requested by field techniciansRemoval of any non-compliant technicians from capacityManagement of active tech lists for all areas which we are responsible forEnsure all day to day operational activities are executed effectively and appropriate records and approvals are in placeOther tasks as required.Qualifications Bachelor Degree in a relevant field would be desirable (but not essential)Minimum 2 years practical experience in a Capacity / Forecasting / Supply & Demand related role. Additional benefit would be if this is within the telecommunications industryAny certificates or qualification related to SQL / Power Bi or other database / analytics software would also be looked upon favourablySkills and Attributes Demonstrate experience with supply & demand type planning and forecastingExcellent Excel skills along with any SQL, CRM, Power BI & Database management or software experienceGood written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with internal and external stakeholdersAbility to work with a wide variety of different stakeholder and teams from multiple business segments. Both internally and externally.Extensive experience and demonstrated success in a similar planning / forecasting type team in a medium-large business with similar headcount and geographic distributionDemonstrated sound technical knowledgeDemonstrated experience in managing day to day issues and successfully resolve situational problems with an appropriate degree of autonomy and independent judgementGood numerical ability and attention to detail.
