Kempsey Adventist School is seeking a Canteen Manager, commencing January 2025, to oversee the day-to-day operations of our school canteen. In this key role, you will be responsible for managing the canteen's food service, ensuring it provides healthy, nutritious and engaging meals for our students and staff.What you'll be doingPreparing and serving a variety of healthy, fresh and appealing, vegetarian meals and snacksDeveloping nutritious menus that cater to the dietary needs of our diverse student communityManaging stock and ordering supplies to maintain appropriate inventory levelsMaintaining and evidencing high standards of food safety and hygiene in the canteen, including developing and implementing the Food Safety ProgramRecruitment and management of volunteers and coordinating their schedulesEnsuring the canteen operates within budgetary guidelinesProviding excellent customer service to students, staff and the school communityWhat we're looking forRelevant experience in a similar role, ideally in a school or educational settingStrong organisational and time management skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation, qualifications SITXSFA201/101 or Certificate III HospitalityDemonstrated understanding, or willingness to learn and apply, the NSW healthy school canteen strategy: food and drink criteria and National Healthy Schools Canteen PolicyAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPassion for providing healthy, nutritious food options for studentsWhat we offerAt Kempsey Adventist School, we are committed to supporting the wellbeing and professional development of our employees.
