Business Traineeship Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Identified Opportunity Administrative Assistants (Administration & Office Support)
We will assist you in completing either a Certificate III or Certificate IV Business through formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and on-the-job experience with your Host Employer, Red Chief Local Aboriginal Land Council. This is a part-time role with an opportunity to go full-time throughout the traineeship. This position is also a targeted role for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Identified applicants only.
Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to: Be part of a rewarding organisation that provides exceptional support to the council and their stakeholders. Deliver high-quality customer service to both internal and external stakeholders via telephone, in person, online, and in writing. Develop your skills and play a vital role in providing clerical support to the CEO, as well as assisting with administrative tasks. This will include data entry, records management, managing membership records, coordinating with external bookkeepers, printing and scanning documents, preparing correspondence, and coordinating conferences. Assist with preparing agendas and reports for board and general meetings, as well as attending and taking meeting minutes for record keeping. Who we're looking for? To be successful in this opportunity, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and characteristics:
Completion of High School Certificate or equivalent. Enthusiastic about learning and acquiring new skills whilst being committed to completing the qualification. Drivers Licences P1 or above - or be actively working towards this. If you are unable to obtain your license, we understand, and in that case, you must have reliable transport or access to public transportation to Gunnedah. Ability to work in a team environment and actively contribute to achieving team goals. Proficiency in computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) is desirable but not essential. A positive, friendly, responsible, and diligent attitude that they can bring to work each day. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Be organised and able to prioritise tasks in a busy environment. Adherence to the LALCs Code of Conduct and various other policies and abide by them at all times. Hold a Working With Children Check or be willing to obtain. Ability to undergo a Pre-Employment Medical. Possess a current National Criminal Police Check or be willing to obtain one.
