Cloncurry Shire Council is seeking a Business Support Officer to provide high-level administrative support to the Director of Infrastructure & Environment. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team that delivers essential services across the Shire, from water management to rural road maintenance. Salary & Benefits: $71,000–$75,000 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience) + Superannuation 5 weeks of annual leave Rostered days off (RDOs) Remote Area Housing Allowance: $60 per week (renting) / $90 per week (homeowner) Personal (sick) leave As a Business Support Officer, you will be essential to the smooth coordination of key services across the Shire. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to be part of a team overseeing critical functions such as water and sewer operations, parks and gardens, rural road maintenance, and the Cloncurry Airport. Working alongside a team of over 40 staff, your contribution will ensure the department's administrative processes are executed with precision and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong administrative and computer skills, capable of managing tasks like scheduling, correspondence, and maintaining accurate records. Attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information with care are critical to this position. Experience in local government or similar sectors is an advantage, as is knowledge of budgets and reporting since the department oversees major infrastructure projects and essential services.
