RoleThe Business Manager operates as a member of the Leadership team to support the facilitation and implementation of the School Strategic Plan for continued school improvement and outstanding student outcomes. The ability to lead and manage change, the delivery, evaluation and improvement of services and the effective and efficient provision of resources to implement the decisions of the Principal and College Council is a requirement of this role. A clear understanding of compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements and Department of Education and Training (DET) policies and procedures is essential in the provision of timely and appropriate advice to the Executive to enable informed decisions relating to the management of the whole school. The deployment and management of school resources, financial and human resources (HR) to increase the quality of the staff working environment and the learning experience of the students forms the core focus of this role. The Doveton College Business Manager is an Executive representative of the school to both internal and external stakeholders and the wider school community.
The Business Manager reports directly to the Principal.
Additional attendance requirement for this position is 30 days.
ResponsibilitiesWork cooperatively with the Principal and other members of the Executive team to provide a range of services to support the goals, values and behaviours of the College, the Department of Education and Training (DE) and the Department of Education Early Childhood and Our Place.Provide leadership, management and support to identify and deliver school level accountability and compliance requirements.Lead and manage the implementation of best practice relating to school financial management activities, Early childhood and Kindergarten funding activities, administrative requirements, the College's HR and staffing including central and local payroll.Lead, manage and support the Education Support administration staff including the development of individual roles, management of the PDP process and the implementation of relevant professional learning and development programs.Maintain and encourage a strong ES team culture and an inclusive whole staff identity.Manage the implementation of procurement and contracts considering DET requirements and legal obligations, for example, insurance, purchasing thresholds, user agreements.Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and the wider school community.Manage revenue raising opportunities and acquittal accountabilities including, Philanthropic Funding, Child Care Subsidy and all associated grants, the hiring of college premises, canteen, fundraising, grants.Access appropriate professional learning to enhance personal performance.Other duties as assigned by the Principal.Who May ApplyIndividuals with the aptitude, experience and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.
