D'Arcy Weil is representing a leading energy technology company based in Melbourne, seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to drive growth in the energy markets and demand response sectors. This role is pivotal in identifying and securing new business opportunities, developing client relationships, and promoting advanced energy solutions that support sustainability and revenue goals.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in expanding the company's footprint and enhancing demand response solutions. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to one of the fastest-growing companies in smart grid technology while working in a dynamic and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Generate leads and prospect new business opportunities within the energy markets and demand response sectors.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with potential clients and industry partners.
Assess client sites to identify opportunities for demand response and energy efficiency improvements.
Prepare and deliver detailed presentations, proposals, and contracts to clients.
Achieve and exceed sales targets through effective business development strategies.
Accurately report on sales activities and provide regular updates on progress.
Build consultative relationships with a diverse range of clients to understand their needs and offer tailored solutions.
Participate in industry seminars, trade shows, and other relevant events to promote the company and its solutions.
Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitive landscape.
Essential Requirements:
Proven success in sales with a strong track record of achieving targets.
In-depth knowledge of the energy markets and ancillary service markets in Australia.
5+ years of experience in the energy sector, ideally in demand response, electrical systems, or power generation.
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Business, or a related field.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
Strong technical and commercial analytical abilities.
Client-focused, professional, and results-driven.
Self-motivated with the capability to work independently and remotely.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a passion for developing as a leading sales professional.
Desirable:
Existing relationships with large Australian industrial and commercial energy consumers.
Experience in demand-side management and energy efficiency initiatives.
Familiarity with the Australian electricity supply industry and sustainability measures.
