Our client, Department of Education, is currently seeking a Business Analyst for an initial contract until 30/06/2024.
The Role: As part of the Equity and Excellence in Action: Infrastructure for Learning strategy which identifies 'data driven approach to asset management' as one of the priority actions, the department is seeking to recruit a Business Analyst to deliver a number of key work items.
The successful candidate will be required to document the processes of their current Asset Management system.
The availability and quality of data, information, analysis, reporting and ICT system functionality is vital for the operation of the department.
Given the scale of the department's asset base and the quantum of information used across the organisation to manage all elements of infrastructure asset lifecycle, there is a need to clearly understand the sources, structure and use of data, the reporting requirements for all stakeholders and current pain points.
As such, the department is forming a small Project Team to leverage current data, finance, analytics, reporting, ICT capabilities & upcoming initiatives.
Accountabilities of the role: Gathering, validating and documenting business and reporting requirements.
Analysing commercial data such as budgets, expenditure and forecasts.
Modelling business processes and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
Identifying issues, risks and benefits of existing and proposed solutions and outlining business impacts.
Creating functional specifications for solutions.
Estimating costs and identifying business savings.
Simplifying information and deciphering technical jargon so it is easily understood by the whole team.
Implementing and testing of solutions.
Supporting business transition and helping to establish change.
Coordination of internal stakeholders and oversight of the delivery of an Information and Technology roadmap that will be delivered by a professional services firm.
The drafting of briefing notes, presentations and memos to gain internal approvals for data, technology and analytics solution that best meet the needs of the department.
Engagement and collation of department scope of requirements for asset data analytics and reporting.
Research and prepare draft reports, briefing materials and correspondence for submission to senior management.
