One of our clients is seeking an Infrastructure Business Analyst to join their long-term project!
The Infrastructure Business Analyst is responsible for bridging the gap between business requirements and IT infrastructure solutions. The role involves analysing, documenting, and supporting infrastructure projects and ensuring that the infrastructure solutions align with the business needs and technical requirements. The Infrastructure Business Analyst works closely with stakeholders, including IT teams, project managers, and business units, to ensure the successful delivery of infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities: Requirements Gathering: Work with business stakeholders and technical teams to elicit, analyse, and document requirements for infrastructure projects (e.g., network upgrades, server migrations, cloud solutions, data center management). Business and Technical Liaison: Act as the point of contact between business users and IT infrastructure teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding of project objectives, deliverables, and technical requirements. Solution Design Support: Collaborate with IT architects and engineers to design infrastructure solutions that meet business and technical needs, ensuring scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness. Process Analysis and Improvement: Identify and document current infrastructure processes, and recommend improvements to enhance performance, efficiency, and user experience. Documentation: Prepare detailed business and technical documentation, including requirements specifications, functional designs, process workflows, and user guides. Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with stakeholders to gather feedback, report on project progress, and ensure alignment between business needs and IT infrastructure capabilities. Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to infrastructure changes and work with relevant teams to develop mitigation strategies. Project Support: Assist project managers in planning and delivering infrastructure projects, providing business analysis expertise to ensure successful outcomes. Key Skills and Competencies: Business Analysis: Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand complex business processes and technical requirements in infrastructure projects. Technical Understanding: Solid understanding of IT infrastructure components (e.g., networks, servers, storage, cloud computing, virtualization, and security). Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Documentation: Proficiency in creating comprehensive documentation, including business cases, requirements, and process models. Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and recommend innovative solutions to align infrastructure projects with business needs. Project Management Support: Experience working in a project environment, preferably using Agile or Waterfall methodologies. Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency in documentation and project deliverables. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in IT, Business Administration, or a related field. 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably with a focus on IT infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge of infrastructure technologies such as networks, servers, cloud platforms, and security solutions.
