Destination Sport ExperiencesProduct ManagerThis hybrid role is based in our Sydney, NSW office; you must live within a commutable distance.Destination Sport Experiences, through its global sports travel brands Marathon Tours & Travel and Sportive Breaks, caters for those who want to participate in the very best cycling and running events across the world.
We are a proud partner of many of the Abbott World Marathon Majors and work closely with major sports events organizers globally.
The team behind Destination Sport Experiences regularly participates in running and cycling events, helping to manage events and support our clients on their journey.Due to an exciting year of growth, we are looking for a Product Manager to specialize and manage our portfolio of Marathon events.
Our Product Manager will manage the events from initial planning and contracting to planning the delivery of the event.This is a varied, hands-on role, and on a typical day you will:Plan the operational delivery of events, working alongside the International Delivery team.Build event itineraries considering budgets and travel logistics.Prepare the pre-departure information.Liaise with hotels, transport companies, event organizers, and other external suppliers to ensure all elements of the event are confirmed and accurate.Negotiate rates and terms with 3rd party providers.Manage the tender process with suppliers where necessary.Manage the product and keep the website up to date.Ensure the product is loaded correctly onto the website for sale.Monitor the sales position and suggest appropriate actions.Work closely with our internal Sales and Marketing teams.Develop new products.To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will:Have working experience in a similar role within the travel industry (sports travel experience is highly desirable).Demonstrate a passion for our core offering of sports travel.Be confident in planning and managing own trips.Have extensive product knowledge and experience specifically in planning triathlon, marathon, or cycling events.Possess excellent planning and event management skills.Be confident with contracting and demonstrate strong negotiation skills.Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Be a self-starter with the ability to manage event logistics.Have the ability to prioritize workload.Be customer-focused and have excellent relationship-building skills.Enjoy working as part of a team.Have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Outlook, and demonstrate intermediate to advanced Excel skills.Be willing to travel domestically and internationally as per business needs.If you have a passion for sports and are looking for your next challenge, we would love to hear from you!#J-18808-Ljbffr
