Project Metallurgist – Concentrator Processing Technical Services Location: Mount Isa, Queensland, Australia
Ref. No. MIM0011 In this role, you will be a valued member of the Metallurgy Project team, aiding in building a safe, productive, and effective workplace where teams are empowered to achieve business objectives. Key relationships will be with Processing Operations, Technical, and Maintenance personnel. A primary requirement will be to resolve technical and operational issues limiting the current grade-recovery position under the existing process flow sheet. This position will be offered on an 8/6 or a 5/2/4/3-day shift roster.
The Role The main outcomes of this role will include maintaining effective project management, engaging key stakeholders, managing relevant R&D projects, and developing a sound understanding of technical aspects. You will apply process understanding to identify technical and operational issues and complete medium-scale projects to deliver cost savings, increased revenue, and improved product quality.
Minimum Requirements: A degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or Mineral Processing. A minimum of 3 years of experience in base metal operations, including grinding, flotation, and dewatering. Experience in project management and process improvements. Strong focus on safety and attention to detail in problem-solving and troubleshooting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills across multiple stakeholders and disciplines. Intermediate level of computer skills in Microsoft Suite.
