The City of Sydney is undergoing a significant transformational change within Property Services, and we're seeking skilled and motivated individuals to join our Technical Services Team.
The City manages a unique and diverse range of assets, including heritage-listed commercial buildings, award-winning libraries, and operationally critical depots.
Our portfolio includes over 1,500 property interests worth $2.7 billion, covering assets such as building properties, footway agreements, vacant land, and road interests.

As a Building Specialist you will:Support the Property Portfolio Team and wider City of Sydney stakeholder base by providing technical expertise in your area of specialty for building operational, maintenance and asset renewal project outcomes.Lead efforts to identify and mitigate risks associated with critical building elements.Support development and updating of technical drawings and documentation through implementation of robust documentation controls.Ensure all technical needs to deliver safe and compliant buildings are identified and documented.Develop tender documents, quotation briefs and specifications for procurement processes.Contribute to the development of long-term asset management plans.We're looking for someone with:Tertiary qualifications in Facility Management, Engineering and/or significant experience in building management at a management level with extensive knowledge and experience managing a diverse portfolio of properties.Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and business development to resolve complex property-related issues efficiently.Well-developed understanding of the political and social context in which the Council operates.This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
