The Position
Position title: Builder / Supervisor

The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties not specifically mentioned in this document, but within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this level.

• To perform excellent customer service and care duties in line with funding and mandatory industry
requirements safely in customers' homes.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The LiveBetter Home Modification and Maintenance (HMM) team specialises in home modifications, maintenance,
adjustments, and advice on building related matters to assist individuals who are frail aged or living with a disability,
or their carers. HMM team also provide commercial services to a targeted clientele who are not eligible for
government subsidised services but still require experienced advice and work performed.
The Builder/Supervisor is required to provide services within the designated geographic area for the supply and
installation of minor modifications. This will include providing advice to customers and Occupational Therapists
where needed, attending home visits for major modifications, carrying out modifications and providing quotes
where needed. The Builder/Supervisor will also be required to source and supervise sub-contractors to support the
completion of major modifications with a view to obtain quality, effective and cost-efficient modifications.
RELATIONSHIPS
• Reporting to the Business Manager, Home Modifications and Maintenance.
• Working closely with all Senior Leadership Team, managers, and staff.
• Building and maintaining relationships with all external stakeholders.
MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Minimum Certificate IV in Building & Construction
• Current Builders license
• Current White Card
• Hold a current Qualified supervisor certificate or be willing to obtain

• Current unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence and willingness to undertake travel in accordance with
responsibilities of the role
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
• Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety and You'
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
• Demonstrated experience managing building sites, including the supervision of other trades on site.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and complete work to required quality standards.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Sound communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous experience working as part of a team.
• Previous experience working within the disability standards, including experience working with frail aged and
people with a disability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prioritise, schedule and complete work as required by the customer.
• Supervise and perform work associated with major modifications alongside relevant tradespeople.
• Complete work for minor modifications.
• Quote relevant work.
• Prepare documentation, including job sheets and purchase orders, and submit to the Orange office in line
with LiveBetter procedures
• Ensure building works are conducted in accordance with Australian Building Standards including the Building
Code of Australia and other statutory requirements.
• Ensure records and other required documentation is completed in accordance with LiveBetter requirements.
• Be responsible for the care and maintenance of LiveBetter equipment.
• Order, purchase, and conduct stocktake of materials as required.
• Supervise and coordinate sub-contractors as necessary.
• Follow all policies, procedures and Safe Work Method Statements and use all equipment and substances
according to relevant legislation.
• Ensure all customers are treated with respect and dignity.
• Respect the privacy and confidentiality of customers in accordance with privacy legislation and LiveBetter Policies and Procedures
• Assist LiveBetter in achieving service and business excellence by supporting and participating in a culture of continuous improvement and best practice.
RISKManagers of LiveBetter are responsible for incorporating risk and opportunity management into their standard
1. Understanding LiveBetter's risk and opportunity management principles and foster a risk aware culture
within their areas of responsibility.
2. Identifying and determining appropriate actions to address risks within their area of responsibility in
accordance with LiveBetter policies and procedures.
3. Documenting their risk and opportunity management processes by developing and maintaining a register
of risks
4. Upward reporting of significant emerging or residual risks.
5. Ensuring the inclusion of risk and opportunity management responsibilities in duty statements, induction,
professional development, and performance management processes for all staff within their area of
responsibility.

HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

NATIONAL POLICE CHECK, NDIS SCREENING CHECK, AND WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK
The position holder is required to pass and hold a current National Police Check, a NDIS Screening Check, and a
Working with Children's Check.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT MEDICAL ASSESSMENTThe position holder is required to pass a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening.
