The Program: We are expanding our Navigator program! The Navigator Program is an intensive, targeted, education support service where Case Managers work in collaboration with schools, young people, families, and external stakeholders to find ways to achieve educational goals.
In 2023-24, 847 young people were supported to re-engage with their education through the Navigator program.

About the role: Navigator operates a school re-engagement program supporting young people 12-17yrs to explore education pathways and return to education. Utilising your experience working with schools, this Senior Case Management (Brief Interventions and Youth Counselling) position will support young people who have disengaged from education. Your dual role will be split into short-term, solution-focused interventions 2 days per week in your case management role and the 1 day per week you will provide counselling using your therapeutic skills aligned to the goal of re-engagement.
Make your mark: Extensive experience in case management and brief interventions therapeutic support for vulnerable children, young people and families. You do not have to be a registered counsellor to be considered. Bring your area of expertise to a diverse team be that mental health, disability, education, or family services. Assist disengaged learners to reconnect back into education and learning. Successfully build rapport with children and young people, who present with a range of complex challenges such as mental health, disability, neurodiversity, trauma. Excellent written and oral communication, negotiation and liaison skills. Ability to work with government and non-government organisations, community groups and clients' families/networks. Knowledge of school environments and educational policy. Make it work: Inspiring leadership supporting individual agency and autonomy. A salary at SCHADS level 6 which equates to around $106,637 plus super at full time. Flexible through the increments up to 6.3. Positions to commence December 2024/January 2025 by negotiation. Ongoing position. Part time, 3 days per week, 22.8 hours, please pro rata the above salary. Site based at our office in Preston with outreach across the region. Pool cars available for your use.
