Glencore Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising a vacancy that exists for the position of Bricklayer, within the refractory team at the Copper Smelter. Reporting to the Supervisor – Refractory, you must be flexible in terms of working times and rosters. This position is residentially based in Mount Isa, working a Monday to Friday roster, 48-hour week.
The successful candidate will be responsible for: Refractory maintenance works in converters, furnaces, launders. Partial and full relining of converters and furnaces. Carry out the bricking as per the drawing and site installation procedures. You will have the following skillset and attributes: Experience working in a smelter or steel plant refractory lining would be advantageous. Experience in gunning/spraying process. Sound knowledge in understanding the refractory drawings. Demonstrated safety focus. Ability to think logically to solve problems. Applications Close:
