Reporting to the Technology Manager - Core Systems, a great opportunity arises as the Boss Production Support Team Lead. The role ensures that the Core System (BOSS) remains available, secure, and compliant as a critical system within the Bupa Technology ecosystem. This involves meeting all necessary security and audit controls, actively monitoring the system to anticipate and resolve issues, minimizing escalations, resolving priority issues within specified timeframes, and coordinating team activities to actively improve system health.
Key responsibilities include the following: Partner with Business & Technology SME's to resolve system issues/degradations/outages.Implement thorough monitoring and reporting of Core System health and have a mindset of continuous improvement.Work with the product managers/business stakeholders to assess the business impact of system defects and prioritise accordingly.Provide quality control & thorough reviews of all analysis and defect fixes for the Core Systems.Document key learnings to improve upskilling and the team's ability to efficiently solve problems by leaning on past experience.Support the coordination of analysis, development, testing & release of defects and small enhancements for the BOSS Core System.Liaise with business stakeholders and SME's to review Business Requirements of prioritised business needs that require system changes.Other responsibilities as directed by the Technology Manager.You may also carry out any other duties reasonably requested by Bupa from time to time.
To be successful in this role you'll need: Tertiary qualification in an IT discipline or related field; or relevant experience (desirable).Problem-solving skills – requires significant problem-solving skills to assess the situation & rapidly arrive at a resolution.Excellent communication skills – this role relies heavily on both written and verbal communication when interacting with stakeholders in varied backgrounds (Business, Technology, Security, etc).An individual who can create an empowering and energised environment that encourages team members to rally around a problem and take ownership.Levelheaded and focused when dealing with priority Production Support issues, gathering key SME's together, leading their team towards consensus & resolution.Is a relationship builder and can run meetings to an agenda and objectives.Excellent understanding of methods for knowledge management with an emphasis on creating internal guides, policy, processes to improve team performance.Previous software development experience, specifically in COBOL systems, combined with Code Management via GIT, ADO Task Tracking, and ADO Agent/Pipeline Management.Experience with Bupa Core Systems, Service Now, Azure DevOps should be highlighted in your application.What's in it for you?
