Temporary part time opportunity to provide administration support across all areas within Cancer Care Services (CCS) in Metro North Health (MNH) with a high degree of accuracy and within designated timeframes.
About you Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Perform a wide range of administrative duties across all areas within CCS, which may include (but is not limited to) reception, referral centre, scheduling, medical records, billing, and call centre/switchboard services.Raise and process outpatient accounts to Medicare Australia and Department of Veterans Affairs using MediRecords, whilst always ensuring compliance with Medicare Benefits Schedule, National Health Care Agreement, and other relevant legislative requirements.Provide excellent customer focus in a friendly and helpful manner, with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently in a written and oral capacity with all patients, their families, and staff.Use clinical and information database systems (including HBCIS, Smart Referrals Workflow Solution, MediRecords, ESM scheduling system, ieMR, MOSAIQ and other Outpatient health systems) to undertake tasks such as: searching, recording and updating patient demographics, Medicare, GP, and admission details; tracking the movement of patient records (both historical and electronic); scheduling and rescheduling of appointments; and placing patient referrals on waiting lists, in accordance with MNH and CCS policies and guidelines.Health Equity It is expected that all Metro North Health staff, including the incumbent of this role as a valuable member of the Metro North workforce, contribute to the health equity agenda and meet the intent of supporting the defined six actions that specifically meet the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHS), by actively supporting the elimination of racial discrimination and institutional racism; supporting increased access to health care; influencing the social, cultural and economic determinants of health; supporting the delivery of sustainable, culturally safe and responsive health services; and recognise the importance of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and organisations to design, deliver, monitor and review the health and support services we provide.
